Not because they’re lazy or careless, but because nobody ever taught them how money actually works.

We teach algebra. We teach chemistry. We teach history. Yet somehow we expect people to understand taxes, credit cards, mortgages, investing, pensions, budgeting, insurance, and debt without ever learning any of it. Then we act surprised when people make mistakes.

The truth is that financial literacy isn’t about being good at math. It’s about understanding the decisions that affect your everyday life. Every time you swipe a card, sign a loan, or choose to save, spend, invest, or borrow, you’re making a financial decision. And every financial decision has consequences. Some help you build wealth. Others quietly keep you stuck.

The good news? Financial literacy is a skill. And skills can be learned.

Nobody is born knowing how a mortgage works. Nobody is born understanding investing or taxes. The people who seem confident with money usually learned. That’s all.

The goal of Financial.ish isn’t to turn everyone into an accountant. The goal is much simpler: to help everyday people feel confident enough to make better financial decisions, one decision at a time.

Because the problem was never intelligence. The problem was access.
